Promoting Menstrual Health

The "Promoting Menstrual Health for Young Girls" program is a vital community outreach initiative aimed at improving menstrual hygiene and supporting school attendance among underprivileged young girls in Lagos. This program focuses on providing free sanitary pads to schoolgirls in Junior Secondary School (JSS1–JSS3) who face challenges due to the high cost of menstrual products. The outreach also includes educational sessions on menstrual health, teaching proper hygiene practices and addressing the stigma and taboos surrounding menstruation. By empowering these young girls with knowledge and resources, the program helps them regain confidence, reduce absenteeism, and enhance their overall well-being. This initiative not only addresses an immediate need but also contributes to long-term social change by promoting equality and breaking down barriers that hinder girls’ education and self-esteem.
